
Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974 in S. Hithadhoo, Maldives) is a celebrated Maldivian film and television actress with an enduring career spanning over two decades. She began her screen journey appearing in the music video Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa and made her mark in cinema with the lead role in the 2001 romance Hiiy Edhenee, a remake of Dhadkan.
Najeeb quickly established herself as one of the industry’s most versatile performers, starring in a wide range of genres from romance and horror to comedy. Her notable films include Aan… Aharenves Loabivin (2002), Eynaa (2004), Zuleykha (2005) — for which she won a Gaumee Film Award for Best Supporting Actress — the acclaimed horror 4426 (2016), and recent comedy hits like Baiveriyaa (2016), 40+ (2019), Maamui (2019), and Bibii (2024).
Sheela’s performances are widely praised for emotional depth and range, earning her multiple award nominations and wins, including Gaumee Film Awards and Maldivian Film Awards. Off-screen, she is married to fellow actor Mohamed Manik, and they have three children together.
