Editor's Verdict

The film opens in the shadow of grief, following a wife and her six-year-old daughter as they attempt to rebuild their lives after a devastating loss. Seeking comfort and a sense of normalcy, they move into a new apartment, hoping it will mark a fresh beginning. Instead, their new home becomes the source of growing unease as a series of unexplained and unsettling events begin to unfold.

What starts as subtle discomfort soon escalates into full-blown psychological terror. Strange sounds, disturbing incidents, and an oppressive atmosphere slowly chip away at the mother and daughter’s sense of safety and sanity. The narrative steadily builds toward the central mystery of the apartment, pushing the characters, and the audience, to uncover the dark secrets hidden within its walls before it’s too late.

The story is one of the film’s strongest aspects. It is well written, with a clear understanding of suspense and emotional tension. While the pacing occasionally feels uneven and slightly draggy in parts, the latter half of the film delivers a strong impact, rewarding the audience with heightened tension and effective horror payoffs.

Performances across the cast received mixed reactions, but Sharaf, Waashiya, and Aleef stand out with convincing and engaging portrayals. Their performances add emotional weight to the story and help ground the supernatural elements in believable human reactions.

Visually, the film has its ups and downs. The cinematography, despite a few noticeable mistakes, works well within the horror framework and successfully supports the eerie tone of the film. However, the art direction and lighting fall short, at times weakening the atmosphere instead of enhancing it, an unfortunate drawback for a genre that relies heavily on visual mood.

Overall, the film succeeds more in storytelling and thematic execution than in technical finesse. Despite its flaws in pacing, art direction, and lighting, the strong narrative, effective horror elements, and impactful final act make it a worthwhile watch for fans of slow-burn psychological thrillers.
