
Ravee Farooq (born 23 April 1982) is a Maldivian filmmaker, actor, editor, and choreographer with a career spanning work in front of and behind the camera. He began acting in Dhivehi cinema in the mid-2000s, appearing in films such as Hureemey Inthizaarugaa (2005) and later taking roles in projects across genres.
Farooq has directed several films, including the suspense thriller Mikoe Bappa Baey Baey (2015), which was submitted from the Maldives to the SAARC Film Festival. He has also been involved in Vishka (2017) and co-directed the 2025 action thriller Alifaan.
In addition to directing and acting, Farooq has worked as an editor on his films and received nominations at the Gaumee Film Awards in multiple categories for his work on projects such as Hulhudhaan and Mikoe Bappa Baey Baey.
He appeared in the web series Huvaa (2018) and continues to work in both film and digital media formats, contributing to cinema as an actor, director, and editor.
Beyond filmmaking, Farooq has participated in discussions on intellectual property and creative industry development, including collaborations featured by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
