Azhan Ibrahim is a Maldivian film director known for his versatility and ability to move seamlessly between romance and thriller genres. He began his directing career in 2024 with music videos, quickly gaining attention for his visual storytelling and emotional sensitivity.

His early works include Thie Magey and Heeleemaa, both featuring Mariyam Azza and Ismail Jumaih, as well as Beynun, starring Mohamed Ishfan and Jamsheeda Jamsheed. One of his notable early achievements was directing Hoadheytho Manzileh, the debut music video of the first Maldivian Idol winner, Laisha Junaid, produced by TVM. These projects helped establish Azhan as a director with a strong visual style and a clear understanding of performance-driven storytelling.

After building a solid foundation in music videos, Azhan transitioned into long-form storytelling with the crime-thriller web series Dharaka, produced by Kazmik International. Streaming on Medianet Videoclub, the series received positive reviews for its gripping narrative and direction. He followed this with another crime-thriller web series, Mirai, which streamed on Baiskoafu, further strengthening his reputation in the thriller genre.

In 2024, Azhan made his feature film directorial debut with Mee Ishq, marking his entry into Maldivian cinema. He followed this with Lily in 2025, continuing to explore emotionally driven narratives with a distinct cinematic approach. The same year, he directed the music video Maa Lily, which became a massive hit, reinforcing his influence in both film and music visuals.

With a growing body of work across music videos, web series, and feature films, Azhan Ibrahim has emerged as one of the promising contemporary directors in Maldivian cinema, recognized for his adaptability, genre range, and evolving directorial voice.
