
Yoosuf Shafeeu (born 20 October 1975), also known as Eupe, is a Maldivian film actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and editor. He began his career in the film industry in 1999 with the comedy-drama Qurbaani, directed by Amjad Ibrahim, marking his first major screen appearance and commercial success.
Over the years, Shafeeu has worked across a wide range of genres, including romance, drama, thriller, horror, and comedy. Early in his career, he appeared in notable films such as Naaummeedhu (2000), Kalaayaanulaa (2003), and Vehey Vaarey Therein (2003), which helped establish his presence in Maldivian cinema.
Shafeeu’s work has received multiple awards, including Gaumee Film Awards and a Maldives Film Award, and he holds the record for winning the most Gaumee Film Awards for Best Actor. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he was honored with the National Award of Recognition by the Government of Maldives in 2003.
Beginning in 2009, Shafeeu expanded into writing and directing, leading projects such as Hiyy Rohvaanulaa (2009), Insaaf (2011), and the crime-thriller Dhevansoora (2018), the latter earning him accolades for directing, acting, editing, and screenplay.
In addition to his film work, Shafeeu has been involved in television and web series, including the suspense thriller Hayyaru (2023), which he wrote and directed.
Throughout his career, Yoosuf Shafeeu has maintained a strong presence in the Maldivian film industry, contributing both in front of and behind the camera across a variety of projects.
