Moomin Fuad is a Maldivian filmmaker, screenwriter, and cinematographer active in Dhivehi cinema since the mid‑2000s. He is known for directing, writing, and often handling the cinematography on films that explore crime, drama, and suspense.
Fuad first drew attention with the crime film Heylaa (2006), which he wrote and directed; the film was also one of the earliest Maldivian features shot in high‑definition digital video. He continued with projects such as Happy Birthday(2009), a suspense thriller revolving around a high‑stakes ransom situation, and Loodhifa (2011), a crime tragedy drama addressing social issues with multiple character perspectives.
In addition to feature films, Fuad has worked on other formats including the crime thriller Nivairoalhi (2019) and the short crime thriller Feehaali (2021). In 2025, he wrote and directed Abadhah, a thriller released in April that reunites much of his creative team from earlier projects.
Fuad’s work spans writing, directing, and cinematography, contributing narrative depth and visual style across genres like crime, drama, and suspense in the Maldivian film landscape.
