At just 21 years old, Aman Ali has already captured the hearts of Maldivian film audiences. Known for his comedic flair and youthful charm, Aman’s journey into acting began with a simple yet life-changing phone call. One day, while playing PUBG, he received a call from Mohamed Ali (Moga), the producer at Dark Rain Entertainment, offering him a role in a film. Without hesitation, Aman said yes—and the rest, as they say, is history.
Early Dreams of Stardom
Aman’s love for acting started at a young age. Even as a child, he dreamed of being in films. By the time he was a teenager, he had turned to TikTok to explore his creative side, gaining recognition as a devoted fan of Maldivian film actress Mariyam Azza. His unwavering admiration for Azza—and his active presence on social media—helped him connect with prominent figures in the Maldivian entertainment industry, including actresses Aisha and Huno, with whom he later shared the screen.
From Small Roles to Big Laughs
Aman’s first on-screen role came in the film Beevima, produced by Dark Rain Entertainment, where he starred alongside Aisha and Huno. From there, he went on to act in Me Ishq and most recently, Bibi, currently showing in cinemas. Despite his relatively short time in the industry, Aman has already made a name for himself as a go-to actor for comedic roles.
While he enjoys making people laugh, Aman dreams of playing a raw, emotional role. “It’s a bit difficult to be funny on my own. But I can cry very easily. I want that kind of role the most,” he shared.
A New Challenge in Bibi
When Aman joined the cast of Bibi, it was a step outside of his comfort zone. Unlike his previous films, where he worked with friends, the cast of Bibi included actors he hadn’t met before. Despite his initial nervousness, Aman described the experience as one of the most enjoyable of his career, filled with memorable moments during the film’s shoot in a single apartment.
His role in Bibi has drawn laughter even before he speaks his lines, a testament to his natural comedic timing. Audiences frequently tell him, “People laugh just by seeing Aman,” which he takes as both a compliment and motivation to continue honing his craft.
Love for the Silver Screen
As a fan of love stories, Aman lists Boss, Me Ishq, Yusuf, and Mi Hadheen Furana Dhandhen as his favorite Maldivian films. He’s also a fan of the horror genre, citing 4426 as a standout.
Aman’s acting inspirations include Mariyam Azza, Aisha, Niuma, Huno, and Majdha. Among male actors, he admires Sharaf, Jumaih, Jumayyil, Maniku, and Yoosup. His ultimate dream is to star in a film alongside Azza, the actress who inspired him from the beginning.
Looking Ahead
One of Aman’s greatest joys is fulfilling his childhood dream of acting in films at such a young age. With three films already under his belt, his future in the Maldivian film industry looks bright. He’s set to appear in another Dark Rain Entertainment production and is also working on creating his own series.
Aman’s journey from TikTok fan videos to the big screen is a story of passion, perseverance, and embracing new challenges. As he continues to grow as an actor, Maldivian audiences can expect to see even more of his infectious humor—and maybe one day, the raw, emotional roles he dreams of.
