Anticipation is at an all-time high as the much-awaited Maldivian film “Sorry”, directed by renowned filmmaker Fathimath Nahula, officially hits the screens tonight at Olympus Cinema. The film marks Nahula’s return to solo direction after nearly two decades, with her last solo venture being the 2008 blockbuster “Yoosuf.”

A special pre-release event was held on June 13 at the same venue, where it was revealed that an impressive 15 shows of Sorry are already sold out ahead of its official release. This feat puts Sorry in elite company, the only other film in recent memory to achieve this milestone before release was the 2024 hit “Kamanaa.”

Director Nahula proudly stated during the event, “This marks a historic moment for Maldivian cinema.” She also noted that her 2008 film Yoosuf had 17 housefull shows prior to its release, ultimately reaching a record 50 sold-out screenings. “We’re aiming to set a new record,” she added with confidence.
